A striking and surreal ceramic vase sculpted from a life-cast mold of the artist’s own foot and lower leg. This one-of-a-kind work blurs the line between the body and functional design, transforming an everyday vessel into a bold sculptural statement.
The piece was constructed using a slab-building technique, with multiple hand-formed sections joined and refined to create a smooth, anatomical silhouette. It is finished in a deep matte-black glaze that softens the form and enhances the subtle surface textures left by the hand-building process. The vase is fully glazed inside and watertight, making it suitable for fresh flowers or as a standalone art object.
Both playful and slightly surreal, the “Foot Vase” nods to classical sculpture while feeling distinctly contemporary. Displayed on a pedestal, tabletop, or console, it becomes an immediate conversation piece.
